Kara Knox, LPC, BCBA provides counseling services at Legacy Center. Kara has a passion for helping children who are dealing with symptoms of ADHD, Autism, and Anxiety find strategies to be more successful and live happier lives! She also enjoys helping children and their families overcome behavioral challenges. Kara has a unique educational background, with a Master’s in Counseling and also a post graduate certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis. She enjoys mixing these two backgrounds together to focus on improving behavior, reduce negative emotions, increase coping skills, increase self-esteem, and create more positive peer and family interactions. She also loves to provide parenting services for parents who are struggling with the behavior of their preschool and elementary school-aged children.
Kara offers weekly therapy sessions in-office, or telehealth when it is appropriate. The therapy sessions will begin with building a positive working relationship and creating tangible goals for change. Kara generally uses a solution focused therapeutic model, so sessions will involve defining goals for therapy and checking for progress frequently.
